The sonnet needs to be:
1. Written in iambic pentameter
2. Rhyme scheme ABBA CDDC EFFE GG
3. 14 lines (3 quatrains & 2 couplets)

We learned about the sonnet form of poetry, including one of the meters used (iambic pentameter), one choice of rhyme schemes (ABBA BCCB DEED FF), and the fact that a sonnet has 14 lines: three quatrains and a couplet.
ASSIGNMENT: write a sonnet (will continue in class Friday).
REMINDER: Johnson & Ariana are scheduled to present their Dickinson poems in class Friday.

This morning we had our Step-Up Day program, so we had no regularly schedule classes before lunch.
Spelling: Use each spelling word in a sentence that shows you know its meaning. You may use more than one spelling word in a sentence. Circle the spelling words. Due tomorrow (spelling test tomorrow, too).
